A CLI turned into a production MVP with paying customers.
When Ken Benavides joined Irongrove, we had a working command-line product and a clear north star: a subscription-based product our customers could sign up for and rely on. What we needed was the front end, application stack, development team, and operating discipline to get there. That is the gap Ken came in to fill. Through AltoLumo, on a fractional basis, he helped us assemble and direct our engineering team, establish our sprint cadence, delivery workflows, and governance, and lead the work that turned our CLI into a production MVP with paying customers. We were working with a short runway, so he kept the team focused on delivering an MVP that could grow into the subscription platform we set out to build. At the same time, he helped us launch the product line with packaging, go-to-market strategy, and customer onboarding built in. While the product was being developed, he also scoped consulting engagements and helped structure the commercial work that supported the company along the way. Ken has stepped into whatever role we needed at the time, advisor, CTO, COO, and he still leads client engagements himself. Ken does not advise from the sidelines. He builds the company with you.

Noble Founder: An operating foundation the whole team works from.
Ben Kigobadi, Founder, Noble Founder
At Noble Founder, we help early-stage founders build real companies and connect them with the capital and capability partners they need to grow. I needed a trusted partner to help build our operations and manage key relationships. Ken Benavides and AltoLumo have been that partner. He mentors the founders in our community the same way he works with me, by helping them see the next step clearly. He took our program guide, playbooks, and operating plan and helped build the operational foundation behind Noble Founder so the team has one place to work from. He also volunteers his time at The Innovation Studio every week during office hours, leads the technical side of the studio, and keeps follow-ups and next steps moving. Most of all, Ken gives guidance as it is needed and works alongside the team rather than above it.
Red Ruby Capital: Partner relations owned, so fundraising stayed first.
Ben Kigobadi, Founder, Red Ruby Capital
At Red Ruby Capital, we help early-stage founders build real companies and connect them with the capital and capability partners they need to grow. I needed a trusted partner to help build our operations and manage key relationships. Ken Benavides and AltoLumo have been that partner. Ken took on founder and partner relations so I could stay focused on fundraising, founders, and investors. He is also a true connector, constantly bringing the right people together, creating new relationships, and helping turn those connections into real opportunities and partnerships. Most of all, Ken gives guidance as it is needed and works alongside the team rather than above it.
Telios: A professional digital presence, owned end to end.
Karen Morgan, Founder, Telios
When Telios needed a website, I did not need a web agency. I needed someone who would own it end to end. Ken Benavides did that. He stood up our site from nothing, put the team together and managed them so I never had to, and delivered a professional site that tells our story to investors, schools, and partners. He also handled the things that come with a company website that nobody tells a founder about, like getting our team’s email running on our own domain. When it was time to update the site to match our latest positioning, I gave him a one-page summary and he came back with every change mapped out, shown before and after, with a plan for when I needed to approve and when the work would go live. When he found a place where our site and our one-pager disagreed, he stopped and asked me to decide instead of guessing. That is the judgment I want from someone representing my company. Ken leads the work like an executive, not a vendor.
Creatopia: The operational and technical infrastructure behind the studio.
Roselia Banuelos and Benjamin Camarata, Co-Founders, Creatopia Inc.
Creatopia is building infrastructure for human development through media, community, research, and technology. We operate The Innovation Studio as a media and community hub, producing shows, livestreams, events, and experiences while developing a Think Tank focused on cocreative and play-based learning and nervous-system restoration. We are also building a workforce development pipeline that connects young people to hands-on careers and developing Portable Production Pods that can bring this work into businesses, community centers, and cultural spaces. As we grew, we needed someone who could help build the operational and technical infrastructure behind all of this while allowing us to stay focused on our people, programming, and mission. Ken Benavides and AltoLumo did exactly that. Ken helped establish our digital systems, company email and domain, internal guides, website and event workflows, and the infrastructure needed to better manage the people and opportunities coming through our studio. He has helped us develop project plans, guest briefings, and systems that our team can actually use. He also shows up at the studio for weekly founder office hours, leads the technical side of The Innovation Studio program, and has participated in our programming as a guest. What makes Ken different is that he works alongside us as part of the team. He understands that technology and operations are not the mission. They are the infrastructure that allows us to build community, create content, develop talent, conduct research, and ultimately scale the Creatopia model. We just celebrated our two year anniversary, and we consider ourselves lucky to have Ken on our team.
